Founded more than 40
years ago, the Nassau County Society of Pathologists
seeks to promote high quality patient care and teaching
by providing outstanding educational programs for
pathologists
practicing on Long Island and adjacent
areas.
Membership is open to all
pathologists regardless of where they practice.
Pathologists in training are encouraged to partake in
the activities of the Society and may become Junior
Members.
The
Society holds four monthly meetings throughout the year.
Two of these meetings feature invited guest speakers
presenting topics of general interest to our membership.
One of the monthly meetings is devoted to presentations
of interesting cases by members and another, called
Resident's Night, features case presentations by
residents and fellows. The meetings are informal and
provide an opportunity for pathologists practicing in
our area to come together to discuss their cases and
other items of mutual interest The Society also presents
an annual full day Fall Seminar and a half day Spring
Seminar presented by pathologists who are
internationally recognized experts. These Seminars,
which bring world class speakers to Nassau County, are
well attended and widely recognized for their
excellence.
The Society is accredited
by the Winthrop University Hospital to
provide Category 1 CME.
